The Big Picture Of Your Survey Research Project
Although you are probably familiar with surveys and some of their uses, it is worthwhile to understand what survey research is and how it might be utilized in more detail. Consider how you would define and explain what constitutes survey research for this assignment, as well as which types of research topics are best addressed using survey techniques research. Then come up with a research question you’d want to investigate (whether for your thesis, dissertation, research study, grant, program evaluation, or personal interest). Finally, describe how you might answer this question using survey research methodologies.
The Task (a four- to five-page paper):
Define and explain what survey research entails.
Describe one advantage and one disadvantage of survey research. Provide examples and be explicit.
Describe the types of research topics that are best answered by survey research.
Describe one specific research question you’d like to investigate (for your Final Project or Dissertation) and explain how survey research could help you answer it.
Provide clear references to all resources utilized in the development of your Assignment. You must include a reference list for all resources, including those found in this course’s Learning Resources.
