the paper is for a music appreciation 1 course.
I want to write my paper about different composers of the baroque period. you can briefly talk about their life but focus on their music , composition style , instruments they favored etc.
if you can use music vocabulary like dynamic, sonata, polyphonic, concerto grosso etc that would be useful. You can talk about different forms of music from the composers you find as well. Touch on characteristics of the baroque period music
I attached to professor requirements for the paper. However i am much more flexible then her as i just need something to turn at this point.
FINAL RESEARCH PAPER
Overview:
This research paper will serve as the final exam for this course. You will be asked to decide on a topic that interests you,
THOUROUGHLY research it, and compose an academic research paper discussing your research and proving your thesis.
Length:
5-7 pages (not including your title and bibliography pages)
Topics:
The topic for this research paper will be decided by you, but must be approved by me. Remember- your topic must be broad enough that you can write academically about it for at least 5 pages. Also, it must not be so broad that you only scratch the surface of the topic. Categories for your topic can include:
A composer, an artist, an ensemble, a genre of music, a performance style, a type of instrument, etc. Whatever you choose, you MUST be able to relate it to the things weve talked about in class.
Paper:
Your paper must be 5-7 pages, typed, 12-point font maximum with standard margins. Writing ACADEMICALLY, you must begin with an introductory paragraph that states your OBJECTIVE and outlines the points that youll be covering in your paper. Much of your paper will be comprised of body paragraphs, proving your points in a logical order (the same as you stated them in your introductory paragraph.
Your paper will end with a concluding paragraph that briefly summarizes important points and may or may not include your opinion. Your paper should include footnote citations.

YOU MUST TURN IN A BIBLIOGRAPY (PROPERLY CITED) WITH YOUR PAPER. A minimum of FOUR sources must be used. All sources must be reputable and scholarly. Please use footnotes when citing your sources in context.
