Instructions:
This is a SOCIAL WORK term paper. Please strictly follow steps 1-8 below marked “Critical Reflective Analysis (CRA) Steps” when writing the paper.
Learners will create their final assignment from a first person perspective, using CRITICALLY REFLECTIVE ANALYSIS of the paper Land, People, and Relations. The assignment will also center on decolonizing and critical social work, as well as awareness, advocacy, and action for social justice.
(Note to essaypro writer: I have uploaded the paper “Land, People, and Relations” in microsoft word format. Please do the Critical Reflective Analysis on this paper only. Be ruthless in doing the CRA steps on this paper and picking it apart, following EACH the 8 CRA steps outlined below. I have also uploaded 4 pdf literature references from the course to incorporate in the paper in order to demonstrate use of course materials and objectives. The rest of the references, 13 in total, can be of your own choosing)
The learners voice must be included in the assignment. For instance, I am a critical social worker.
This written component should introduce and situate their topic, have a clear thesis and direction for their paper, focus on critical reflective analyses, decolonizing and critical social work, as well as awareness, advocacy, and action for social justice, integrate the literature used within and beyond the course (minimum 13 references), have a conclusion that addresses learnings from this assignment and as well as future directions and actions for social justice.
Final assignments should be clearly written and have an APA style 7th edition title page and references list.
Critical Reflective Analysis (CRA) Steps
1. Asking Why (5 marks)
Posing questions and wondering ‘why’ are fundamental like a toddler
2. Digging Deeper (5 marks)
Critically analyze and expose the roots, i.e. to expose the assumptions and values that might be giving rise to differing concepts, principles and practices.
3. Turning the Gaze Inward (5 marks)
Turning the gaze inward, or back on oneself, is an essential component of CRA and the mirror reminds us to make such a shift. Challenge your own assumptions!
4. Making Personal/Political Linkages (4 marks)
Reflecting upon and understanding a personal experience is an essential component of good social work practice. CRA political linkages refer to an analysis of how power is embedded in interpersonal relationships, social constructs, and social institutions. A personal/political analysis asks us to consider how these power laden societal relationships and structures might be creating the events/situations and impacts
5. Engaging in Emotional Labour (4 marks)
learning processes are those that involve our emotions/feelings/intuition. The course content asks us to deconstruct (un-learn) and reconstruct (re-learn) fundamental values and beliefs and such learning engages our hearts as well as our minds.
6. Integrating the Wisdom of Others (4 marks)
The point of drawing on the wisdom of others is not to ‘prove’ you are right or wrong. While it is fine to use the work of others to extend and support your ideas, integrating the wisdom of others with your own ideas and feelings is often more powerful learning.
7. Acting with Intention (4 marks)
You can begin to understand these choices and to analyze them for internal congruency. Remember to include WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO DO?!
8. Clear Communication (4 marks)
Communication can take multiple forms but effectively expressing your thoughts and ideas to others is an essential skill.
Work must be deemed to be outstanding, exceptional, innovative, excellent, original,
and publishable. The work demonstrates:
– A theoretically integrative comprehension of course content, concepts, and process supplemented with enrichment readings and/or additional research
– Advanced evidence of the CRA tools 1-6; robust ability in integrating personal reflection and political analysis; suggestions for congruent action
– Synthesizes the work/wisdom of others in a critical, creative and unique fashion to support and expand ones own ideas (CRA tool 7)
– Articulation of the significance of course content for the students growth and development
– Solid organization and structure; high level of clarity of expression via excellent syntax, grammar, punctuation, and use of language; correct APA citing and referencing (CRA tool 8)
