Discrimination on Illegal Immigrants Term Paper
Question
Illegal immigration is currently a major concern in the United States. Discuss discriminatory practices that affect the undocumented in the United States and the positive and/or negative consequences of illegal immigration on the undocumented and on society at large.
Thesis Statement
Illegal immigration has increased the level of discriminatory practices. Illegal immigrants are being mistreated because they are not citizens of the United States.
Discussion
Discriminatory practices on Illegal immigration have been around for many years. In March 1790 the United States congress passed the first law on who should be granted citizenship. This act was called the Naturalization Act of 1790. It allowed individuals who lived in the United States for two or more years to apply for citizenship. Those who were not citizens of the US were denied to vote, testify in court, and own their own property.
Immigrants come to the United States believing that they will have a better life and more opportunity than what they had in their countries. When they arrive in the United States, they realize that this is all a lie.
Immigrants come into the United States and utilize more resources to sustain immigrants than their own citizens.
Summary
Overall, discriminatory practices have been an issue for many illegal immigrants. It must come to an end because they are just like anyone else who deserve the same rights. These individuals are hard workers who strive to have a better life. Illegal immigrants have families to support and take care of. These individuals are just looking for a way to survive. They tend to put themselves in situations that other people wouldn’t do just to make a living.
