Topic 2:Federalism (300-400 words)
Questions: how are governments structured under unitary, confederal and federal models; why did the founders select a federal system, what does federalism look like; what are the advantages and disadvantages of federalism; what are the various types of powers granted to the federal government; what are some examples of concurrent powers; what is the supremacy clause and how is it applied; what was dual federalism, what did it look like, what was the relationship between state and federal governments under dual federalism; what was cooperative federalism and why did it come about, what changes happened to the relationship between state and federal governments under cooperative federalism, what president is typically associated with this type of federalism; where does money that is grated to state and local governments generally go (see table in power point); explain the granting system and why it was created; what is devolution
Topic 3: Political Ideology (300 words)
Questions: What is an ideology; what is the difference between conservatism and liberalism; what other types of ideology exist;
