Illustration Essay Requirements
Your essay should be at least 950 words (but should not exceed 1, 700 words). The essay must utilize major and minor examples to explain or clarify a claim offered in the thesis statement.
Your essay must haven an introduction with an explicit thesis statement. It must also have at least three, well-developed body paragraphs. These body paragraphs must have clearly discernible topic sentences, placed in the first sentence of each paragraph. Each body paragraph should have substantial major and minor details that demonstrate your pattern of development. Additionally, each body paragraph must include appropriate transitional phrases/words that encourage coherence and cohesion. Each rhetorical strategy has its own set of common transitional words/phrases, so be sure to use the appropriate transitions.
Your essays must also have an appropriate conclusion that gives the reader a sense of completion regarding your approach to the subject of your essay. Dont allow your essay to drop off or fade out at the endinstead, use the concluding paragraphs to emphasize the implications of your thinking.
