Importance of Women and Minorities in Voting Rights Discussion
Week Seven Discussion
Posting Directions
First Classmate Post:
The importance of women and minorities having the right to vote is the woman’s suffrage movement is significant on the grounds that it brought about section of the Nineteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which at last permitted ladies the option to cast a ballot.
In 1890, the two associations accommodated and turned into the National American Woman Suffrage Association. By then, at that point, ladies reserved the privilege to cast a ballot in Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Colorado and Washington.
Equipped with systems from both establishing gatherings and joined by associations including the National Association of Colored Women, the National Women’s Party and the National Federation of Women’s Clubs, NAWSA turned into a compelling public power.
As a characteristic of their impact, Theodore Roosevelt’s Bull Moose/Progressive party took on ladies’ testimonial as party board in 1912. I could affect change individually or as a member of a group by making sure everyone is on the same page and by speaking my mind so I can get my point across when we discuss situations like this.
Second Classmate Post:
People need to vote because we need to make sure that, every single day, the folks who are at the margins are getting their needs met, getting the resources they deserve to be treated in ways that will impact them and their children’s lives negatively.
It is going to take us voting in more women, and not just because representation matters, but I am talking about women who are progressive, women who are trying to change white supremacy and patriarchy. I am talking about a new shift, a new paradigm, it is going to take us voting those people in and changing those systems.
If we want to make sure that our children and their children and their children’s children survive, live on a planet that is habitable, we must, we must, we must bring more women into office.
