2) Determine the benefits and challenges for each side, Janus and AFSCME.
3) Understand and explain how the Abood vs. Detroit Board of Education, established a law which maintained precedence since 1977.
4) Research and discuss any additional historically cases which have challenged or supported the 1977 decision.
5) From your research and course learnings determine which side, Janus or AFSCME you support. Do you agree or disagree with the courts decision in the case, why or why not?
Your term project is to prepare arguments in defense of your chosen side, Janus or AFSCME. Detail whether the Abood vs. Detroit Board of Education law should have been upheld or overturned. What would be the impacts of upholding the 1977 decision? What are the impacts of overturning the 1977 law? Chose the side based on your own beliefs, which may not align with the courts rulings.
This is the final project for this course. Therefore, your Term Project should demonstrate a mastery of the complete coursework during the semester. Additionally, the project should be a reflection of your own original work. It should not contain more than a 30% similarity with Turn It In. Failure to submit your own original work will result in failure.
Paper should be 3-4 pages (not including reference page) typed and double spaced utilizing 12 point font. Sources must be cited.
