Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels the Communist Manifesto
Although we looked at the “Isms” last week, the one standalone movement that would cause a great deal of upheaval in Europe over time was Marxism. This philosophy quickly gained momentum in the poorer working-class groups of Europe, especially in Industrialized areas. Because we will be seeing the effects of this in the near future (even in America), it is worth a moment to at least try to understand where Marx was coming from.
