Moral Action And Cultural Relativism
Cultural Relativism and Moral Action Required Resources For this activity, read/review the following resources: Textbook: Chapter 1, 2 Lesson Minimum of 2 scholarly sources in addition to the textbook Instructions Propose a scenario in which you or someone you know is faced with a moral dilemma relating to cultural diversity and multiculturalism. It can’t be the same thing as what was discussed in week one.
Religious, sexual, ethnic, and other forms of social variety are all examples of cultural diversity. A moral dilemma is a circumstance in which a person must choose between two or more options, both of which appear to be ethical and/or unethical. Answer the following questions: What was the situation in the first place? What was the crux of the problem?
What approach to the situation would a subjective moral relativist recommend? What type of relativist would say something like that?
What, according to a cultural relativist, is the best approach to the problem? What type of relativist would say something like that? Is that the best approach?
What did you, the individual in the situation, decide to do? What was their moral justification? Is that an ethically sound approach?
In this case, was there an objective moral truth (the objectively proper way to do)? Why do you think that is?
Remember that the difficulty should be described and discussed in full. Consider the questions as demands. Provide an in-depth reflection on a difficult ethical scenario. This is an essay, so instead of merely offering a list of concise responses to questions, provide an in-depth reflection on a difficult ethical situation.
Incorporate outside sources, including citations, and cite the textbook.
