Instructions:
Over the poetry, a thesis statement and annotated bibliography
Description
First, I need a thesis statement for my annotated bibliography, which will be about Edgar Allen Poe’s poem “The Raven.” (To examine this poetry and sources for the bibliography, you will use my college textbook.)
Requirements for a Thesis Statement:
I’d like you to submit your paper’s thesis statement and then prewrite on it on this discussion board.
You can discuss the thesis’s direction in your work, provide some sample topic phrases, or simply try to generate ideas by freewriting on it. Make a concerted effort to narrow and focus your thoughts.
The following are the prerequisites for the Annotated Bibliography:
Begin your annotated bibliography with a thesis statement that connects the fundamental theme of all of your sources.
For the research paper, use three sources and make a proper MLA citation for each one.
Make three entries in the bibliography, each of which should be 300-500 words long and summarize each of the three sources.
Write a line or two about how you’ll use this source in your research work. Lone Star Academic Databases should be used for at least two of these sources. Choose one quote from each source to include in your research report.
Rephrase the quote in three different ways:
a direct quotation,
2. a paragraph,
3. a mix of quotes
FORMAT
Create a header with your last name and page number using the heading for an MLA document. Then you’ll have three entries for each source, organized alphabetically by MLA citations. Each entry is divided into four sections:
MLA citations with proper citations for each source Under the citation, write a summary (one paragraph).
Although this is a summary of the source, a parenthetical citation should still be included. Make sure you write in your own words no paraphrasing.
Under the summary, provide an evaluation (one to two phrases).
This is the section where you explain how the source is relevant to your paper.
Make sure to emphasize the source’s importance.
Fill up the blanks with an exact quote from the source.
Use the same quote three times. (Remember to introduce each quote and provide a parenthetical citation for each use):
An example of a straight quote for the paper, properly introduced, structured, and cited
The same quote as an example para for the article, but properly introduced, structured, and cited. Blend the same quote with your own words, quoting only a portion of it in quotation marks, and introducing, formatting, and citing it correctly.
