Personal Statement for APRN Program Applicants
Please be aware that I work in a Trauma ICU and have previously worked in a Surgical IMCU.
A personal statement is a narrative of your deeds that demonstrates your dedication to accountability, professionalism, and compassion for the sick. Make a two-page essay (excluding the cover page). It must be typed in 12-point font, double-spaced, and have a minimum of 500 words and a maximum of 1500 words. Make sure to answer all of the questions completely:
Share your nursing experiences and how they relate to the function of the APRN. Include your personal values, past experiences, and future objectives.
What relevant work experience do you have?
Describe your understanding of a primary care nurse practitioner’s roles and responsibilities, including the scope of practice.
Discuss your career goals and how the APRN program can assist you in achieving them.
Describe why WCU’s APRN program is the best option for achieving your academic objectives.
