Purpose
The project communication strategy lays out who, what, when, why, and how project communications will take place. Project managers must handle the project’s information and disseminate it to the project’s major stakeholders. Communication is essential for managing project expectations and project teamwork.
Instructions for the Assignment
You’re in charge of a server installation project with stakeholders in San Jose, California, Colorado Springs, Colorado, St. Louis, Missouri, Nashua, Massachusetts, Rhos-on-Sea, Wales, and Ljubljana, Slovenia. Stakeholders in San Jose build the individual machines that will make up the jumble of boxes that will make up your Rhos-on-Sea and Ljubljana installation project. Your system engineers and testers are based in Colorado Springs and St. Louis, respectively.
The contractual vendor assembles your server network’s numerous CPUs, processors, file servers, drives, and cabling. Rhos-on-Sea and Ljubljana will offer on-site technicians to complete the installation under the supervision of the systems engineers, which will be followed by system testing by your testers.
Make sure that your communication matrix in the Communications Management Plan form includes the stakeholders, time zone concerns, and appropriate technology for virtual communications for a worldwide workforce.
Create a Project Communication Plan using the Communications Plan template, which includes the information requirements described in PMBOK Guide section 10.2.3.1 Communications Management Plan.
