Coronary artery disease is caused by an increase in plaque that accumulates in the wall of the arteries and causes a blockage or the build-up against the walls breaks off and it can cause a stroke, pulmonary embolism, MI, aneuryms.(GCU 2018).
Key steps necessary for the prevention, are a healthy lifestyle, lots of exercises at least 5days a week 30-60min, it can include walking, jogging, yoga, dancing, and anything that can increase the heart rate. Eat a well-balanced meal, that includes veggies, fruits, nuts, lean meats, low on dairy foods, whole grains, and healthy fats. Getting a sufficient amount of sleep, around 7hours per night, sleeping is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle. A lack of sleep can put a person at risk for obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease. Sleep is important because of the internal clock known as the circadian rhythm it works better when the body is resting. Learn to cope with stress, learn breathing exercises for relaxation, staying away from overeating, drinking, and smoking especially during stressful times.( Mayo Clinic 2019)
