DIRECTIONS:
You will write an APA 6th Edition paper on someone you choose who is currently in an executive position or in a leadership role, with a length of 5-7 double-spaced pages. They should be a C-Level executive (CEO, CIO, CFO, etc.) or in a prominent leadership role. This person must, at the very least, be in charge of a significant function within an organization and have supervisory authority over others. The interview can take place over the phone, online, or in person (your methodology or mode of conducting the interview, must be documented in your paper). A minimum of five (5) peer-reviewed, refereed journal articles on your subject’s ethics must be included in this paper. As a general rule, your paper should include the following:
DESCRIBE: Provide an overview of the subject’s ethical beliefs and practices. You should address the following in two pages (approximately): What challenges have they faced in the workplace that have influenced their ethical perspectives? How have they dealt with those issues (ethical reasoning)?
ANALYZE: An examination of the subject’s ethical standards. How did he or she develop their ethical perspective?
What ethical theories does he or she express or imply in his or her ethical discussion? Examine whether his or her ethical theory contained any inconsistencies, flaws, or inadequacies. Consider the strength of the subject’s ethical position if there were no flaws. What, in your opinion, drove the leaders to act appropriately or inappropriately? This should be two to three pages long.
Do you agree with your subject’s approach to ethics? SYNTHESIZE and EVALUATE: Do you agree with your subject’s approach to ethics? If not, what is the reason for this, and if yes, what is the reason for this? What did this interview and your research teach you? This section should be about two pages long.
You must summarize and analyze the interview’s content rather than providing a verbatim transcript. This is worth 300 points and is due on Sunday of Week Six. This paper’s grading rubric can be found in the Course Information section of Blackboard.
