Description
Students will pick a specific evidence-based issue for the capstone project change proposal in consultation with the approved course preceptor. Students should think about the clinical setting in which they work now or have previously worked. A clinical practice problem, an organizational issue, a leadership or quality improvement endeavor, or an unmet educational need particular to a patient demographic or community can all be topics for the capstone project.
The student can also choose to collaborate with an interprofessional team. Breast cancer patients, lack of knowledge in pre-screening, lack of education on breast cancer therapies, and lack of family support are the topics I chose with my preceptor. Students should choose a topic that relates to their area of interest as well as the clinical practice setting where they will be doing their practice hours.
