Write a research paper that addresses the global terrorism issues listed below: We discussed the Dilemmas in Terrorist Deterrence in Week 3 of the course (Chapter 4 in The Counter Terrorism Puzzle). Why is it so difficult to deter terrorists? Do you believe that terrorists will be deterred? Deal with both sides of the debate (using diplomacy, information, military, economic, financial, intelligence, and law enforcement (D.I.M.E.F.I.L.) methods).
In October 2018, the US government released the most recent National Strategy for Counterterrorism (NSCT). For the second topic, you must create a framework for the United States’ brand-new National Counter-Terrorism Strategy. Both domestic (homeland) and offensive overseas elements must be addressed. Make sure to discuss how you’ll strike a balance between domestic security and civil liberties at home, as well as how you’ll deal with terrorists abroad without breeding more terrorists.
Ascertain that your framework incorporates all aspects of national power (diplomatic, informational, military, economic, intelligence, law enforcement, financial). Explain why it’s critical to collect all domestic and international intelligence sources for effective counter-terrorism efforts. For a new NSCT, you only need to write the outline or framework; for a comprehensive strategy, you only need to write an executive summary or details of your pillars or plan of action. Technical Requirements: Your paper should be at least 5-6 pages long (including the Title Page and Reference Page). Times New Roman, 12 point, double space is the font to use. In written work submitted as part of coursework, students will use the APA Style as the sole citation and reference style.
To support your paper, use at least ten scholarly sources. The use of Wikipedia or other encyclopedic sources will result in a deduction of points. Books, peer-reviewed journals, articles, archived documents, and other sources are highly recommended. The attached rubric will be used to grade all submissions.
