Overview of the Task
We will conduct a SWOT analysis of the Coca-Cola Company for the Module 2 Case.
Assignment of a Case
Go to the library and check out IBISWorld. Enter the phrase “Soda Production in the United States.” After familiarizing yourself with the contents of IBISWorld (be sure to review all pages on the Soda industry), conduct some additional and more current research on Coca-Cola in the library (use trade journals, newspaper articles, and magazines). Also, make sure to read the company’s most recent 10-K report, which can be found at http://www.coca-colacompany.com/2015-year-in-review/downloads.
Then, in a 5-page well-written paper, write the following:
1. Evaluate Coca-external Cola’s environment, identifying key opportunities and threats, by performing the following tasks:
a. Conduct a Porter Five Forces analysis of Coca-external Cola’s environment.
2. Perform an in-depth internal analysis of Coca-Cola using the Function Approach to Internal Analysis to identify key strengths and weaknesses. To conduct your analysis, refer to what you’ve learned in previous courses. At the very least, assess the following functional areas:
a. Accounting/Finance: Include at least three (3) key financial ratios in your analysis (if you need a resource, see Drake, P. (n.d.).
