The Grade Nonfiction Book Review
7th grade Nonfiction Book Review “The Hunger Games” or book of your choice.
After reading your nonfiction book, write a 3-page book review. Your book review must have the following elements:
- Cover Page– Your name and course. You may also include an image.
- Summaryof the novel. No more than 1 paragraph. Think of summaries you have read on the backs of books, in magazines or on Amazon.com. Summaries rarely give away the ending. You don’t want to ruin it for a reader!
- Reviewof the novel. This should take up most of the paper. This review should involve your opinions about the book, and it MUST cite specific examples from the text that supports your opinion.
- Recommendationof the novel. This should be 1 – 2 paragraphs long (minimum 5 sentences in each paragraph) and should persuade the reader to either read the book or discourage the reader from reading the book.
This assignment is for drafting purposes. If you have all portions of the assignment completed, you will receive full credit even if you have grammatical or structural errors. This is designed to help you learn to edit your work before submission.
