Methodology
The study is focused on the effects of the nurse retention methods on the reduction of the nurse turnover rates in healthcare facilities. The sample targeted in this case is the management of the hospital facility or the human resource management as well as nurses who are directly affected by the issue of high rate in the nurse turnover. A total of 100 nurses and 10 human resource management from the three healthcare facilities will be surveyed to help in the collection of the information. These are the facilities with a history of continuous recruitment of nurses as a result of the high number of nurses leaving the facility for new opportunities elsewhere. The collected information will reveal the real issue concerning the methods adopted by the hospitals in the retention of their nurses (Dewanto & Wardhani, 2018). The data will also reveal the feelings of the nurses concerning the high rate of nurses’ turnover and the methods that have been adopted by the management to ensure that the issues are addressed.
Sampling strategy
The criterion sampling will be used for the nurses’ managers and nurses. The method will be adopted to ensure that the participants have met the criteria of having hiring responsibilities using the leadership qualities for hiring for the nurse managers and that nurses have worked in the institution for not less than one year (Dewanto & Wardhani, 2018).
Research Design
A survey research method would be adopted to help in the collection of both primary and secondary data from the selected healthcare facilities. In human research, a survey refers to a group of lists of questions that are targeted at collecting specific data or information from the participant. The survey methods can involve the use of phones, mail, via the internet, and the street corners or in emails. The data on nurse turnover and demographic features will be collected. The data collected through the survey research method will reveal the true picture about the practices used by the human resource management to promote the retention process to reduce the level of staff turnover (Dewanto & Wardhani, 2018). The collected data through survey method will also reveal the perception of the nurses on whether they are satisfied with the retention methods used by the management in ensuring that that they are satisfied in their workplaces.
