Work in Excel for a project that needs to be finished
Question Description
You are developing a demographic analysis of Miami-Dade Countys population. Follow the steps to produce the results Figures near the end of the document demonstrate this.
Notes: There are two worksheets in this workbook: the Documentation worksheet (for the workbook’s history) and the Population worksheet. Later in the project, you’ll build a third spreadsheet called Selected Demographics. Make sure you’re working on the right worksheet according to the instructions. In all formulas, you should use cell references rather than re-entering data.
Use the photos at the conclusion of this document to check that your work is right.
1. Create a Line Chart with Markers, as illustrated in Figure 2, that shows the entire population by age groups. Place this graph at B19:G35. The following is the format:
a. Rename the graph Total Population by Age Segments.
c. Rotate the text 270 degrees on the horizontal axis. (Hint: For this, use the Text direction dropdown selection.)
c. Use Orange Accent 2 Darker 25% for the line and marker colors.
d. Set the main units to 50,000 and minor units to 25,000 in the vertical axis choices.
e. Add Primary Major Vertical and Primary Minor Horizontal gridlines to the drawing.
f. Remove the border from the plot area. Set the fill to be a gradient using the Light Gradient Accent 2 preset gradient.
f. Use the color Orange Access 2 Darker 50 percent to create a border around the entire chart.
2. Change the page orientation to Landscape and narrow the margins. Open the Custom Margins setting and change the top and bottom margins to 0.25 using the settings offered by the Narrow option. Col. A should be repeated on each page. Data until age 30-34 and a chart should be on the first page, followed by data from age 35-39 to 65-69 on the second page, and the rest of the data on the third page. For printing, there should be no scaling.
3. Create a page footer with your name in the right-hand section and the date this worksheet was finished in the right-hand section. To confirm that your print settings on the Population worksheet are set up appropriately, use Page Break Preview.
4. Make a new Selected Demographics worksheet. In the tabs, move it to the last position.
5. Go back to the Population worksheet and make a Line Chart with all of the racial and age groups, as shown in Figure 3. The following is the format:
a. Copy and paste this chart into the Selected Demographics worksheet, where it should be positioned at B3:M26.
b. Rename the graph to Population by Race and Age Groups.
d. Using the Custom angle option, rotate the text in the horizontal axis to -45 percent.
d. On the vertical axis, set the Maximum Bounds to 60000. Set the Major and Minor units to 10,000 and 5,000, respectively.
e. Add Primary Major Vertical and Primary Minor Horizontal gridlines to the drawing.
6. Return to the Population worksheet and build a Clustered Column Chart, as shown in Figure 4, to represent the black population by age segment. This chart should be formatted as follows:
a. Copy and paste this chart into the Selected Demographics worksheet, where it should be positioned at B28:M42.
c. Move the legend to the top of the page.
d. Rename the chart to Black Population by Age Group.
d. On the vertical axis, set the Maximum Bounds to 25000. Set the Major and Minor units to 5,000 and 2,500, respectively.
e. Add Primary Major Vertical and Primary Minor Horizontal gridlines to the drawing.
7. Return to the Population worksheet and build a 3-D pie chart, as shown in Figure 5, that shows the total number of senior persons by age segment. Ages 60 and up are included. This chart should be formatted as follows:
a. Copy and paste this chart into the Selected Demographics worksheet, where it should be positioned at O3:U18.
b. Rename the graph to Senior Citizens by Age Group.
d. Select Style 4 as the chart style.
d. Move the legend to the top of the page.
a. Attach data labels to the outside ends of the wires.
f. Format data labels to include the legend key and percentages.
g. Extend the slice for 65-69 years old.
8. In cell B1 of the Selected Demographics worksheet, type Selected Demographics. B1 should be merged and centered across B1:U1, and the title should be formatted with the Title style.
9. Change the page orientation to Landscape and narrow the margins.
10. On the Selected Demographics worksheet, use Page Break Preview to erase any page breaks.
11. Use File Print to see if you need to do any custom scaling to get all of the charts to fit on one page.Save your file, close Excel, and sub
