The assessment has been designed to test ones ability to construct a coherent argument in response to a set question by synthesising knowledge acquired on this unit of both evidence (especially works of art) and scholarship, in accordance with the marking criteria. The task is also designed to make one engage actively with your learning and offers you an opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of the material on this unit in written form.
Colors are often associated with moods. Thus, for instance, black is often interpreted as “sad” or “bleak” and white as “pure” or “joyful”. And so on with all remaining colors. Where are those color/mood associations coming from? Who came up with that? Why? If you see a wall painted flat gray do you feel it to be as boring as if you saw a Ferrari sports car painted the same color? Probably not. Do some of your own research and, also based on the examples provided in this description, write a two-page short essay where you describe your own theory of how colors influence moods.
