Assignment on Competency Self-Assessment
Please complete the Competency Self-Assessment table supplied for the specialization track in the Competency Self-Assessment assignment (PMHNP). In the first column, you’ll find the NONPF core competency, and in the second column, you’ll find the population-specific skill.
You must evaluate the population-specific competencies from NONPF for this assignment, as well as the curriculum content column (far right) of that page (located in Instructional Materials). Please use column three of the self-assessment table to list instances of coursework, clinical experiences, or other events that helped you achieve that competency while in your program. Please indicate areas you need to develop or have more exposure to in the fourth column, based on the curriculum content identified in the NONPF document, where applicable (see competency example LINK). Write one letter to one of your members of the U.S. Congress using the information from the last module on the issues identified by your state professional organization advocacy team. A letter to one of your state representatives and a letter to Congress (at the national level) (state or local level).
Two letters are required for the assignment, one to a national representative regarding a national issue and the other to a state/local representative regarding a local issue.
