Bank Supervisors Experiment Simulation Essay
Every morning I wake up I think I am very lucky to open my eyes to another beautiful day. The thing about life is you will never know what is waiting you ahead. Life is full of surprises, and every choice we make will lead us to another voyage. Personally, I am still not sure about my biggest dream. I constantly keep changing my mind about what I want to do in the future. I believe this is because in my subconscious mind I still do not feel fulfilled and happy about what I am currently doing with my life. Everybody will eventually die someday and all the hardworking we have done in life will disappear, as well.
Even though I am still not sure about my biggest dream, I think it is the school that is in the center of my life. Every time I start thinking about school, I get excited. I feel worried about my academic life. For example, when I am working on my assignments, I make sure everything is perfect before I submit it and start waiting for the grade I am going to get. Nothing is dependent on luck in this world, instead; you work hard and earn everything on your own.
The life is tough and people are more individualistic in these days. The world works in its unique order and we are the travelers. I believe in karma; what goes around comes around. If you send happiness to the unseen universe that is what you will get back; on the other hand, if you are pessimistic, every single task is going to be a hassle for you in life.

Teams need to have the results of 100 simulations posted as soon as they can. For the benefit of other teams, please post your results (1 post per team) also as a class message (in addition to uploading here). As individuals consider the results of this simulation and discuss: Do you believe that your simulation provides evidence that the bank supervisors in case presented in week 1 were biased against females? (ii) How confident are you in your statement (iii)? Discuss how your expectation may have changed as you gained more information (in the form of empirical results).
Simulation Experiment: Components of the following simulation experiment are to be completed by individual students with the experiment as a whole to be completed by each learning team. Individually remove all four aces from a deck of playing cards. There will now be 24 red cards in the deck, that will represent “male” files, and 24 black cards that will represent “female” files. Alternatively, you may use 48 index cards, marking half with “M” and half with “F”.
Shuffle the cards at least seven times and then cut them. a. Count out the first 35 cards to represent the files recommended for promotion. b. Each learning team: repeat the simulation with the cards until the team has a total of 100 simulations. With each simulation, record the number of “males” promoted. Post the results of 100 simulations in the form of an empirical probability that 21 or more of the 35 recommended for promotion were male.
