It is the general notion that a person has of the common expectations that others have about actions and thoughts within a particular society. Read through a commercial magazine or online media source and identify a few examples of the generalized other’s perspective, focusing in particular on how the media define desirable women and men. How do these definitions and expectations affect us? How might this be a problem? Analyze these messages and discuss how you respond to them. Cite your media sources.
