Documentary Questions at a Crossroads
Please see the documentary Breaking Point (Bill Wisneski, 2014) by clicking on the link below. By selecting the CC icon in the screen’s right bottom corner, you can enable closed captioning (subtitles). On the following page, you will find further instructions for the assignment.

Questions
1) How do the issues depicted in the documentary relate to the concept of government failure?
2) In light of the documentary, please explain on the function of nonprofit organizations in raising public awareness and encouraging advocacy for a cause.
3) Please talk about the role of nonprofits as “gap-fillers.”
4) What dangers does the declining Salton Sea pose? Why are residents unable to relocate to a new location?
5) Please share some information regarding Save Our Sea’s current status and initiatives (SOS). (https://www.ecomediacompass.org/about (This is a link to another website.)) (This webpage, like the textbook, is exempt from the citation requirement.)
Instructions
The essay will be double-spaced, written in Arial, Times New Roman, or Calibri fonts, and will be three to four pages long (excluding the bibliography page). There is no requirement for a cover page.
Only *DOC or *DOCX formats are acceptable. Canvas is unable to open submissions that are in the *pages format.
You must attempt to answer all of the questions in the assignment. However, rather than answering each question with a number, you must incorporate your answers into your essay.
Because this is a reflection paper rather than a research project, I do not ask you to use outside resources. It would be sufficient to use the textbook. You don’t need to cite the textbook if you allude to it (e.g., “as noted on page 140 of the textbook” would suffice). If you use other sources, please properly reference them (MPA or APA styles are acceptable) to avoid plagiarism, and include a bibliography section at the end of your essay.
You must deliver the content, critically examine it, and reflect on what you’ve learned while relating the concerns to the course’s topics. Please supply some theoretical knowledge (from the textbook) about the issue, particularly the main assumptions of a theory or model. Your paper should be well-structured (with an introduction and conclusion paragraphs). It must be written in a professional and academic language (e.g., no contractions) that follows grammar, spelling, and punctuation norms (you can use MS-language-check Word’s option to help you with this).
Please feel free to add your thoughts as well. When expressing your viewpoint, you may employ “I-statements.”
