Student post down below:
During this course I was offered a new position in my organization. The job title is family engagement specialist. It is a created position and it gives me the freedom to pave the way for more family engagement specialist that are going to come onboard in the future. This course made room for me to apply the things I have learned along the way. I was able to present an action plan to my supervisor about some future plans for a project I would like to implement. I feel that this course gave me the tools and the confidence to be able to identify the issues and come up with a plan.
Challenge: The challenge was that the position was a new created position and I am the only one for the organization.
Action: I developed an action plan to showcase the need for a team of workers to be able to be more effective. I also created valuable documents that would be helpful with helping families that need help.
Results: Supervisor was able to see the need of a team and documents that was created was digitized for the organization.
Details: In about 3-4 months supervisor would like to talk again once more data is gathered and collected from families.
