Fundamentals of Organizational Communication Discussion Paper
To follow the chain of command or jump to the top: that is the question. One day, your direct report verbally assigns you a project to complete. You know that if you launch this new initiative it will be ineffective and cost the company a significant amount of money. You know that higher level leadership would agree with you, so you approach your boss and explain an alternative that would save money and be more effective for the organization.
Your boss does not listen to your reasoning and tells you to move forward on the project as previously instructed. How do you handle this situation? Do you follow through on the project as instructed or do you go to someone with more authority and express your concerns? Give reasons for your course of action.
Answer question twice. 200 word min each answer. APA
