Once you have read this week’s chapter in American Yawp and the primary sources listed in the links above, consider again the question on the title “British North America.” How do this week’s readings shape your thinking? Write another post in the Weeks 4 & 5 discussion forum that refers specifically to this week’s readings and how they affect your thinking. This post is due by 11.30pm Tuesday. Feel free to continue commenting one each other’s post through 11.30pm Friday.
As you analyze this week’s sources and textbook chapter, consider the following:
The exchange between Governor Glen of South Carolina and the Board of Trade was pretty heated. It represents just one of many issues over which Britain and its North American colonies disagree. What are the governor’s main concerns? The Board of Trade?
Many of the other documents represent conflicts within the colonies themselves. Consider for each the author’s concerns. What do they tell you about the lives of people living in early America?
