Description
Diversity is an asset to organizations but this does not mean that organizations that are diverse in nature are without problems. In fact, there are a variety of impacts that diversity can have on an organization (both good and bad). Leaders need to recognize and embrace the importance of diversity and implement programs for increasing diversity, as well as improve an organizations culture of diversity. In relation to diversity, address the following questions:
1. Assess how workplace diversity can impact a business (e.g., operations, practices, productivity, and profitability).
2. What role do trust and transparency play? How do collaboration and dialogue impact your thoughts on trust in the workplace?
3. Research and discuss an organization that has not had an effective diversity management program, or has had issues with diversity. What strategy(ies), action(s), or initiative(s) could this organization consider to create a more diverse workplace?
4. Be sure to include examples from the readings and your personal experiences to illustrate or support your thoughts. Include at least three credible sources to support your discussion.
