Factors Affecting Nutritional Intake – Module 1 Assignment
Module 01 Content Healthcare practitioners would be ecstatic if people made food choices based on a thorough understanding of what constituted a “healthy diet.” Regrettably, this is not always the case. Many people have no idea what a healthy diet is. Others are aware but make less healthful choices for a variety of reasons.
People’s eating preferences are impacted by a number of things. Environmental cues, financial realities, cultural/religious attitudes, and the availability of meals in the community are only a few of the factor categories. Address the following in a 3-page paper written in APA format with good spelling and grammar:
Explain the meaning of nutrition and why it is so important.
Give examples to support your claims on the qualities of a healthy diet.
Identify at least two (2) factors (apart from culture) that can influence a person’s dietary choices and give an example of each.
Investigate a culture (ethnic, religious, or nutritional) in which certain food restrictions are enforced and respond to the following:
Describe the constraints.
Describe how the constraints could make it difficult for someone to eat a nutritious diet.
What nutritional options could be used to get around the dietary restrictions?
On the References page, cite at least three reputable sources and provide them in APA format.
