INTRODUCTION:Memorial Health Care facility has several separate units that operate in silos. However, recently, there have been multiple health cases that required the work from more than one unit. Since the units are not aware of what the other units do or how they operate, there was much confusion and miscommunication as to the best way to proceed and how to stay organized.
INSTRUCTIONS:Based on this scenario, consider the following recommendations in your efforts to improve communication and efficiency.
• Memorial Health Care facility should solely adopt a macro-level approach to help assist in coordination efforts.
• Memorial Health Care facility should take a micro-level approach to ensure that coordination is achieved and that the different units are working together to increase quality and efficiency.
• The units within Memorial Health Care should continue to work in silos and only focus on certain parts of the cases in which they can treat and control, and let the other units follow the same approach.
