Money Banking and Financial Institutions (FIN681)
1st part
You’ve been asked to explain the purpose of an aggregate demand model and why these models are used to show the effects of monetary policy as a financial analyst at a local brokerage firm. A minimum of 200 words is required, as well as one source.
Part two
In November 2010, the Federal Reserve began a second round of quantitative easing, followed by a third round in September 2012. Economists debated the role of money in promoting economic growth as a result of these rounds of quantitative easing.
Quantitative easing opponents argued that a country cannot grow its economy by printing money. Instead, it should concentrate on policies that boost productivity. Additional quantitative easing proponents argued that the policy would lower real interest rates, boosting consumer spending and investment. Examine both arguments in the context of the aggregate demand and aggregate supply models, and support your position with examples. A minimum of 200 words is required, as well as one source.
