Q1 What were the keys to Classical Rome’s success and growth as an empire? What can we learn from this?
Q2 write your comment
The Roman empire is one of the most famously known empires to rule the world. The nation began just like any other one, but they took different steps in order to gain trust, followers, and overall power in the region it ruled. Many different components influenced the success of the nation, but the leadership that helped grow Rome is what set it apart from others. Rome was built so that the privileged leadership party set the rules to apply to all citizens no matter their class. This helped them gain other citizens as they conquered other cities because the people saw the clear layout of the government, and they wanted to be a part of it. Another element of the nation that allowed them to be so successful was their military. The soldiers of the Roman Empire truly felt as though they were defending their home, which made them tough and powerful. Finally, they had beliefs, customs, and traditions that all of their citizens agreed with and participated in. This aspect of unity allowed the nation to be strong together, and prevented little things from tearing it apart.
I think that a lot of nations, including the United States, can learn from the advancements that the Roman Empire made to be successful. Today, there are a lot of things going on in the world, and I do not think that one nation can be in control of everything. I think the U.S. should continue making the nation a better place for its citizens to live in by creating and fixing infrastructure, improving education at all levels, creating jobs, and making an equal environment for all citizens to feel a part of. Doing these things can make the United States another great nation, and hopefully can prevent us from falling like Rome did.
Q3 write your comment
There were many things that led to the fall of the Roman Empire. Their military had a hard time keeping soldiers and began to fall. They also had a hard time transporting things across all of their land, even with the advanced structures that they had created. This caused difficulty in running the entire empire and showed a lot of miscommunication. Finally, the economy was having a hard time as well, due to debt and issues with their labor force.
I think that it is important for us to learn about the fall of the Roman Empire because it shows us what they did wrong. When we analyze history, we have less of a chance to repeat it. We can see what they have done wrong and what we want to do differently in order to be successful. Overall, I think this is a very important way to make big decisions.
Q4 What makes a nation great? What ends a nation? Be specific. Is the United States currently rising or falling? Support your answer.
