Instructions:
Description sTopic:
Observe mothers and fathers with their tiny children as part of your research (minimum of three families, one-hour observations for each ). Make a list of your findings and draw a conclusion regarding how parents influence their children’s internalization of sex roles. Please inform the clasS about your findings.
Students will provide background information to the class audience, such as statistics or an explanation of the problem/research (this will depend on your project choice). The presenter will give a brief overview, synthesize theoretical ideas and research, and provide a diagnosis/explanation of their current social situation. The presentation will conclude with the most important lesson the students learned from the project, as well as one hope and social action option. The 40 total points are specified in the Course Project Presentation Rubric.
1. Suggestions and Recommendations
Your presentation should follow a topic framework and include the following items:
a brief introduction that sets the tone for the rest of the presentation (about 2- minute)
the presentation’s major body: theoretical concepts, data, and diagnosis (about 4- minutes)
a compelling ending that conveys the most critical takeaway as well as hope possibilities (about 1-2 minutes)
Your goal is to effectively engage the audience and communicate your message. To do so, people must be able to concentrate on the theoretical analysis rather than being distracted from your message by graphics that are overly complex or difficult to understand. If you made an original work of art, you could photograph it to illustrate both the broad and close-up elements. Students might choose to format their presentations using Powerpoint. The ASM’s “Meeting Site Instructions to Speakers” has some great power point ideas and suggestions.
To begin, the graphics you use should be carefully picked to complement the spoken phrase. Your slides should help your audience grasp your message by clarifying your concepts, emphasizing key points, demonstrating relationships, and providing the visual information they require.
2. The General Plan
Your outline should be in outline format (not an essay). On the day of your presentation, it will be uploaded here. The following items should be included in the outline to match the topic presentation:
a quick introduction to the issue that establishes a context
Statistics, theoretical ideas, and diagnostics make up the core body of the presentation.
a compelling conclusion that incorporates your main takeaway as well as opportunities for hope and social action
