Begin by explaining the history of voting rights in the U.S. How is the right to vote related to the concept of equality? Then discuss the main points of the “Lesterland” (Election Finance) video and identify issues that pose a threat to the future of representative democracy in the US.
View the video from the Miami Dade College Book Fair that features New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu, author of “In the Shadow of the Statues.” This video is linked into the Blackboard course in Unit 4. (Report any problems with video to me immediately).
