Within any trade or profession, there is a need for many different types of learning opportunities, all geared to making one a skilled professional. This is especially true within the fire service. Over the last few decades, formal higher education has become a requirement for first responders as they progress throughout their careers. In your opinion, is there a need to require some form of higher education for emergency service workers, and if so, at what point of their career?
