You are to research and then create a proposal, identity and advertising for an event at a Birmingham UK Venue of your choice. The event will be aimed at consumers in the age range 18 to 25.
Read the criteria listed below and include these sections in a single digital pdf report/portfolio which will be submitted online.

Film; Competition; Adrenaline; Special Occasions (Once in a lifetime); Health & Beauty; Lifestyle; Meeting people (Socialisation); an Exhibition; Mobility; Exotic or Indulgent and Seasonality.Once you have decided on the new event, this assignment requires you to produce the following Analysis and Promotional Design Material.
Please note:
Your solution should be for an event and NOT the venue itself.You will be expected to complete sections 1 to 6 as parts of a single digital portfolio submitted as a PDF file.
Section 1: Target Market Profile
State, profile and list in terms of importance the target market(s) for the event using the criteria, methods and format provided in your lectures. (You should then identify which of these criteria are most important in defining your market and promoting your selected event, explaining your choice of criteria, and the motivations you might utilise to persuade your chosen audience to attend.Section 2: Event Development (Product differential)
You should clearly state a single name, logo and slogan for your event.Explain what your event is and provide a brief description of its main elements.
Identify your events USP and/or ESP, provide a rationale of how its elements translate into consumer benefits. Provide a justification of your choice of design elements relative to the message and target market. Indicate any potential competitors.The logo can be a graphic icon, logo or logotype but must clearly define the events appeal to the target market and become the key, recognisable asset to be applied to the marketing material for your event.
Section 3. A Press Release
You must provide a press release for your event, which must follow all the technical pre-sets that have been addressed in lectures. It should be written in a style appropriate to a newspaper or magazine you intend it to feature in.Section 4. Five rough draft ideas
Provide 5 rough draft billboard advertising design ideas to effectively promote your event to its target market. These must show different communications concepts and NOT different graphical approaches to a single communications concept.Please note: You must ensure that any sketches are done in PEN rather than pencil so that your work, when scanned, will be legible within your pdf and can be photocopied when printed out.
Section 5. Final Solutions
Select and develop a final billboard (above-the-line design) and a 6 page DL flyer (below-the line-design) to technical execution standard that effectively promotes your event to its target market. Please ensure that the two types of promotion are on (at least) separate pages and clearly marked (see below).Section 6. Personal Reflection (500 words)
Provide an overview and analysis of your work for your portfolio. How do you feel about what you have produced? What areas do you feel you have excelled at? What areas do you feel you may need to improve? Do you believe the materials you have produced would be successful in promoting your event and persuading your target audience to attend? Each section is assessed on how creatively and intelligently it has been considered (40%), its communications effectiveness (40%) and the professionalism/quality-of-finish achieved in the way it is presented in the digital (PDF) portfolio (20%).
