Research Paper: to conduct research and prepare papers summarizing what they have learned about current themes from weekly readings in their own terms. A theoretical review of relevant literature and application of findings from the literature to a topic connected to a given industry, field, or business challenge is what research is all about.
Peer-reviewed trade or academic journals must be used for the research. While blogs, Wikipedia, encyclopedias, course textbooks, popular periodicals, newspaper stories, online websites, and other sources of background material are useful, they are not appropriate for this research project.
Requirements for the assignment:
STRATEGIES FOR BRANDING a research topic based on the chapter readings
Find at least four (4) separate peer-reviewed articles on your topic in the Library online business database, preferably five (5) or more. The article(s) must be current and come from a reputable source. While relevant articles from any time
period are acceptable, current/published articles from the recent five (5) years are desired. A point deduction will be applied if you use literature that is irrelevant or unrelated to the chosen topic.
Write a four- to five-page, double-spaced, APA-formatted paper in which you discuss the findings on your specific topic in your own terms. Please note that the length of the article does not include the cover page, abstract, or references page (s).
The following is a suggested structure for your paper:
a. Title page
a. In your own words, describe the significance of the research topic to current business and professional practice.
c. The study purpose should reflect the topic’s potential benefit to current business and professional practice, as well as the greater body of research.
d. Write a summary of the literature review in your own words. This part should not be considerably filled with direct quotes from the article, nor should it be a “copy and paste” of literature content. A literature review is a synopsis of the key
points and findings from each of the publications you’ve chosen (with appropriate citations). Direct quotations should be utilized only when absolutely necessary. This is usually the longest section of your paper (this is not a requirement; just a
general observation).
e. Literature application in practice. Describe how the findings from the relevant research literature can be used to shape, inform, and improve existing business and professional practice in the area of your choice.
f. Write your own conclusion
b. References structured in accordance with APA guidelines
Criteria for grading:
All of the requested components are completed as assigned; content is on topic and related to marketing management; critical thinking is clearly demonstrated (few, if any, direct quotations from the source in the paper); scholarly research is
demonstrated; topics and concepts gained from the assigned reading and/or research are evident.
Critical Thinking (15 points): Demonstrates significant critical thinking about themes, as well as sound material interpretation and reflection.
Clarity and Effective Communication (15 points): Communication is clear, concise, and well-presented; scholarly writing is exhibited; grammar, sentence structure, third-person writing, and word choice are all employed correctly.
Integration of Knowledge and Articles (15 points): Articles used must be current and relevant (ideally published within the last five (5) years) and must be from peer-reviewed journal articles. The study examines and analyzes at least four (4) peer-reviewed journal papers.
Cover page, headings, in-text citations, page citations (page number citations are necessary for specific information such as dates, years, list of items from article, names, numbers, statistics, and other specific information), and references are properly formatted (30 points).
