Resources Or Federal Agencies for Current Public Health Trends and Practice
Identify and discuss specific resources or federal agencies that you will utilize to remain informed and current in public health trends and practices.
Public health entails collective actions to assure healthy conditions exist for people in the society through the utilization of a comprehensive public health framework and ten essential public health services (Nickitas et al., 2020). The framework consists of three core functions: assessment, policy development, and assurance.
Health Department (USDHHS) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are the leading public health agencies (Nickitas et al., 2020). They determine the essential public health services, provide data and resources on public health and current trends and initiatives. In addition, one can use databases to access information such as vital statistics for assessment purposes. Besides, the Institute of Medicine’s Healthy People 2030 initiatives can be used to get an insight into current trends, areas of focus, and priorities.

In practice it is critical to stay current on clinical guidelines, regulations, research, and evidence-based recommendations (Clinical Resources for Nurse Practitioners (NPs), n.d.). In future practice I will use these websites among others to remain current.

Medical knowledge and guidelines are constantly evolving, necessitating that health practitioners have fast access to current, reputable clinical information. Evidence-based healthcare is critical for eliminating diagnostic mistakes and achieving better health outcomes. UpToDate is a major evidence-based clinical resource that is widely utilized in the United States and other parts of the world. It has been associated with decreased mortality and duration of stay in US hospitals (Valtis et al., 2016).

The CDC is a trusted source of credible scientific information, with a proven track record of pioneering science, evidence-based decision-making and action, global reference laboratories for emerging and pandemic diseases, and an experienced workforce comprised of subject-matter experts (n.d.).
