SCENARIO
The marketing company you work for has a new client, Misen. Misen is concerned that they are not doing all they could with their website. Their website traffic has dropped off and Misen is concerned about too much “noise” online—meaning messages and content that distracts from the brand’s overall message, which makes consumers feel inundated and annoyed. Misen thinks their website might be in need of optimization, and some customer surveys have suggested that the website content is less than engaging.
You know that it is essential for an organization’s website to have peak visibility for the target audience. You are also aware that the ultimate goal is to make the website as seamless as possible for its users, ensuring that the content is relevant and consistent across multiple channels.
INSTRUCTIONS
You have been tasked with writing a summary regarding the matter that incorporates the following:
Describe at least two unique target markets for Misen.
Review content on the Misen website. Based on your research, identify at least one article or blog that Misen could use to reach a target market and explain how.
Review all social media platforms that Misen is active on and analyze their content and interaction with customers. Then identify a new platform opportunity for the company. Be sure to include consideration for the value of multi-channel marketing.
Review the branding on the website and offer a suggestion for improvement.
List 4 keywords or keyword phrases (other than the brand name) that you feel are essential for Misen to rank highly on and explain why a high ranking would be beneficial. Using the predictive text on the Google search tool, identify the company’s actual rank for these terms. (Note: to use predictive text, go into Settings on your computer’s browser. Select Language & Input. Select Google Keyboard. Then click Browse and select Predictive Text.)
