Name your song and the artist
Name who wrote the lyrics
Name who composed the music
Name the Genre of song
Rap, Western, Punk rock, etc.
Describe how the genre itself adds meaning
Name and Describe how the artists used three literary devices, symbols metaphor, hyperbole, etc.
Write a paragraph for the overall meaning of the song.
Choose 5 different lines from the song and use our critical reading skills to interpret.
What does the line literally say?
What does the line do (Action: look for goal and obstacle)?
What does the line mean?
Pick at least three of the following and describe what is asks of you. Be specific when you recall the experience. Use your five senses to describe surroundings at the time.
Describe when you first heard the song.
Describe another time you heard the song and it meant something different than the first time.
Describe the circumstances when you chose to play the song.
Describe a time when you shared the song with a friend. Why did you share it?
Describe how you feel when you listen to the song.
Describe a time you sang the son even without playing the song on a device. Acapella.
Describe a friend or family member who shared the song with you and what the experience was like listening to it together.
Write a paragraph or two or three (Depending on how you structure) about how the song relates to you personally. Use the exploration above to write the paragraph.
Create a works-cited page for the song and any other outside sources you used to complete this worksheet.
