The Role of Leadership in the Decision-Making Process Essay on the Whistleblowers’ Organization
It’s up to you.
In a leadership position, you’ll discover that you have a lot of duties, especially when it comes to making crucial decisions. If you have a close working relationship with someone, making decisions can be difficult. Put yourself in the shoes of a member of the management team (manager, director, CEO, president, VP, etc.). Choose a scenario from the
list below and talk about how you would make a decision based on your knowledge.
Layoffs: You’re faced with the difficult option of laying off a team member who has been loyal to the company for many years and has become a friend.
Hiring: In your department, there are two candidates who are qualified for a post. One has a lot of experience, while the other has a lot of education.
Sexual harassment: A manager, who happens to be a close confidante of yours, has been accused of sexual harassment by an employee.
Theft: A manager has been accused of stealing from the company. This manager happens to be a family member of yours.
This is an excellent opportunity to be innovative while also demonstrating your leadership abilities. You are free to fill in the spaces in any way you like. Provide explicit details about the scenario you’ve chosen. You will also need to discuss your thought process in terms of how you would go about making your decision and why you would make this conclusion. Subtitles should be used for each segment. The following is how the subtitles should be labeled:
Situation (Discuss the scenario from the list and fill in the blanks to complete the situation.)
Make a choice (Describe the process of thinking and why you chose this decision.)
Placement (This section will detail why you selected this decision.)
