As a project manager I need to make different status reports based on different stakeholders. Heres what I think about creating the status reports and the difference between the two status reports. First for High power/Low Interest status report. People with high power in your organization deserve your attention and time, even if they are not currently particularly interested in your project. Therefore, status report for keep satisfied must include but not limited to project overview, project status, risk/issues and recommendation. My goal here is to balance the information that is being made on the project without getting into trouble. Second for Low power/High interest status report. This is a stakeholder who wants to be notified and involved in the project, but just has no authority to be the highest priority. Because their strong interest will make them useful to us at some stage along the way. Therefore, provide as much information as possible about the project to people in this category to suit their interests.?
What are key differences between High Power/Low Interest status report and Low Power/High Interest status report?? High Power/Low Interest report needs to be concise but contain key information about the project. This allows these people to quickly track current project progress without creating additional burdens. On the contrary, Low Power/High Interest status report is a summary of all the work done during the phase and how these activities can help complete a task or project, or how each activity brings the team closer to achieving its goals. It is also a useful tool for managers to monitor team performance and progress. Therefore, this status report needs extra information such as items completed, upcoming activities, technical data and action items. It can help people to understand what theyve accomplished and whats coming up.?
