Instructions
This unit discusses the cause and origin of fires as well as classifications. For this assignment, you will research fires that have occurred in your local jurisdiction through the state fire marshal’s office (whoever is the entity responsible for overseeing fire investigations conducted in your community and determining cause and classification).
Your research should outline how the cause is determined and what the most common contributing factors for fires are in your community or state.
You will write a paper that describes the cause and origin and the classification that was discovered during your research. The goal of this assignment will be to determine:
- what the top three common causes of fire are and
- what the top three contributing factors are for the chosen area
Complete an essay outlining your findings from the research that was conducted. Your essay must be at least three pages in length (not including the title and references pages).
You are required to use at least three sources for this essay; one source may be your textbook or from the Internet, but two of them must be from the CSU Online Library. All sources used, including your textbook, must be cited and referenced accordingly. Be sure to format your paper using APA Style.
