The cards used in the game SET® were previously described in a separate document. The entire deck of cards (seen in Figure 1) will be referred to as the universal set, U, throughout Problems 1 and 2. Also, for the Critical Thinking problem, we will not discuss the game rules until problem number three.

R stands for “red cards” in this case. L = “lightly shaded card set”
P stands for “purple cards” in this case. M stands for “medium-shading set of cards.”
