create an original sample podcast episode. When podcasts are first tested out, many times the very first episode is known as a pilot (just like TV) or episode zero (0) or something clever like that. For this assignment you are to take all that you have learned about podcasting, storytelling, and digital media to create a polished and professional sounding podcast pilot episode.
This project is aimed to be wide open to your creativity and interests. You should pick a topic/genre that you feel really interested in, excited about, intrigued with… if you think it’s boring, so will the listeners. You will need to come up with a name, description, and genre for your podcast. These must be applicable to your content and goals of the podcast. There are many podcast genres but the most commonly accepted are the following:
Arts
Business
Comedy
Education
Games & Hobbies
Government & Organizations
Health
Kids & Family
Music
News & Politics
Religion & Spirituality
Science & Medicine
Society & Culture
Sports & Recreation
Technology
TV & Film
You will first need to create a podcast plan: this document should follow the supplied template that provides a clear and concise overview of what your podcast is about, who it is for, and how you intend to stand out from the existing podcasts in the same genre.
