Lesson Plan
Select a language feature to target within pragmatics, semantics, syntax, or morphology (for example, verb tensing). Imagine that you are working with two children of different ages (of your choosing). Develop at least one activity for each of them to elicit your desired behavior.
Provide details regarding the context, participants, elicitation strategies, and materials that you would use. Make sure that your activities follow the functional, facilitative approach. Discuss how your activities would encourage generalization. Identify five to ten training items within your language feature that you would target for intervention.
Additionally, provide two different types of feedback contingencies that you would provide to correct the child’s response. Use Appendices D and E in Language Disorders: A Functional Approach to Assessment and Intervention for some ideas.
In addition to citing the weekly materials, bring in at least one peer-reviewed reference from the Ashford Online Library to justify your selections. The Ashford Online Library provides video tutorials that explain how to locate journal articles in the library. The Ashford Online Library can be accessed through the Library tab on the left navigation toolbar.
Your lesson plan should be one to two pages in length, and can be in bulleted format, however, you are required to use complete sentences and appropriate punctuation and spelling. Cite references in APA format. For information regarding APA samples and tutorials, visit the Ashford Writing Center, within the Learning Resources tab on the left navigation toolbar.
