Instructions:
Working through the questionnaire with someone with whom you have a close personal relationship is recommended.
Create a three- to four-page paper that provides a thorough analysis of the encounter. Your response should be as follows:
Give a brief overview of the interview.
Identify positive and/or negative behaviors and activities outlined in this module’s chapters that you engaged in or saw. Use specific examples from your interview to illustrate your point.
Discuss how the concepts of self-disclosure and interactive listening from Chapters 3 and 7 apply to your experience. Use examples to demonstrate your point.
Discuss 2-3 key things you learnt about yourself, your conversation partner, and/or your shared relationship.
An introduction and a conclusion should be included.
Citations from the text should be used whenever possible.
REMEMBER: Rather than a list of responses to the questions, you want to write a completely developed paper with a logical flow. You can choose whether or not to react in the order they are listed above.
Part 2: Talk about it.
Gives a summary of the interview, including who your interview partner was and how you felt. Were you initially uneasy or immediately at ease?
Describes the moments in your life that stuck out to you the most and why. What did you learn about yourself or your partner as a result of this experience?
Include some closing thoughts on how much you liked this activity and how this exchange affected or altered your life.
