Generating Support for Evidence-Based Practices (SOCW 6311)
When working with clients, social workers must make sure that the evidence-based treatment is appropriate for the client and the situation. The social worker must then persuade the client and other stakeholders to endorse the evidence-based practice that has been chosen. To gain that support, the social worker should give a strategy for implementation as well as evidence of the evidence-based practice’s efficacy and appropriateness to the client and stakeholders. Social workers must show that they have carefully assessed the procedures required to adopt the evidence-based practice, identified elements in the existing environment that support implementation, and addressed those that may obstruct its implementation.
You will play the position of the social worker in the Levy case study in this week’s Discussion. You’ll pick an evidence-based strategy and try to enlist the help of both the client and the supervisor. To do so, you’ll look at the efficacy, appropriateness, and elements that could affect the evidence-based practice’s implementation.
Review Levy Episode 2 to prepare for this discussion. Locate an evidence-based practice that you believe would be appropriate for Jake’s case utilizing the registries supplied in this week’s materials and the Walden Library. Then, from the resources section of the SAMHSA website, look over the Evidence-Based Practice Kit for Family Psycho Education. Take note of all the processes and factors required in putting the evidence-based practice into effect, and which ones apply in this circumstance. Consider factors like agency support, resources, and prices that could help or hinder the implementation of the evidence-based intervention you choose.
Describe the following information, titles, and details in a 500-word discussion post:
-An assessment of the evidence-based practice you chose for Jake.
– Explain the practice and the research that backs it up.
– Justify why you believe this intervention is necessary for Jake.
– Then, for the supervisor’s benefit, explain any implementation-related difficulties.
– Explain why you feel two variables are important for successful implementation of the evidence-based practice.
– Next, select two factors that you believe may obstruct implementation and describe how you plan to address them.
– Include at least three APA references and citations from the following texts in your paper.
